What is this all about?

Liz and I have been talking for a long time about finding a place just for us. (I am sure that many people have been suggesting places for us for years!) Well, we have finally found our place. It just happens to be in a little town called Vadis, West Virginia. (Which rhymes with Davis, and happened to be the original name of the town until the townsfolk found out that there was already a town named Davis in West Virginia. So, they just swapped the D and the V and Vadis was born.)

There is no was to accurately represent the interior of this house with pictures, at least with my photographic skills. It is beautiful. The hardwood floors are solid maple from an old high school gymnasium. The overhead floor joists are all exposed and painted white. The rooms are all very large and comfortable. And then there are the grounds...

The house sits on over 46 acres of rolling, tree-covered land. There are three meadows, from low (720 feet elevation) to nearly 1200 feet. The property is loaded with wildlife: deer, wild turkey, beaver, river otter, and who knows what else. The property is in a large triangle, with the base running east/west. Each property line runs about a quarter mile, or more, on a side. There are tons a great places to camp out and hiking is no problem. We even have our own creeks---Fink Creek and Walnut Fork.
