The Fighting Minutemen

September 20, 2002

The Minutemen battle the Lincoln County Cougars...

These are the new stands on the 50-yard line.

Here are the press and coaches boxes.

The nose-bleed seats up on the hill behind the stands.

A view of the snack bar and restrooms from the grand stands.

The field and scoreboard from the snack bar area.

Sullen teens---"Why do we have to stay with you!?"

The Minutemen cheerleaders strech out a bit.

Another view of the cheerleaders warming up.

Here are a couple views of the cheerleaders strutting their stuff.

Look closely for some Charlie Brown cartoon-style dance steps.

Now they are throwing the short gals into the air.

All you could do was hope they didn't drop one!

Here the Minutemen cheerleaders whip the crowd into a frenzy.

Lincoln and Lewis County cheerleaders chat before the game gets started.

Here the Cougar gals throw each other around.

The Cougar cheerleaders were very snappy and precise.

The Minutemen band enters the stadium...

and marches past the snack bar...

around the end of the field...

and ends up in their position for the National Anthem.

This series of the band was taken just before the...

National Anthem was played.

We think that there was a problem getting the ...

color buard onto the field!

This series has the Minutemen...
and Cougars work out before the game.
Now both teams come back onto the field...
as part of the pre-game festivities.
The xebras strut down the field.
The color guard FINALLY gets it together.
The coin toss...
and the Minutemen choose to receive.
Not that the pics really show you...
but the moon rise was beautiful.
The next 5 shots are from the first series...
of Minutemen downs that resulted in a TD!
This is the first Minutemen touchdown.
Here is their second touchdown.

Half-time activities started with a very nice presentation...

by the Lincoln County Cougar band.

Then the Minutemen band took over and presented...

their rousing salute to Nascar and Dale Earnhardt.

Our newspaper publisher was acting as the sports reporter/photographer that night and ran out of steam!

A young fan in the stands.
