2005 Gilmer County EVOC Course
(EVOC - Emergency Vehicle Operation Curriculum)
![]() |
Our EVOC is based on the National Standard Curriculum from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). DOT-NHTSA has the responsibility to develop training courses that are responsive to guidelines established by the Highway Safety Act of 1966. | ||

| In 1978, NHTSA developed the: Training Program for Operation of Emergency Vehicles: A National Standard Curriculum (EVOC). The 1978 edition of the EVOC course has been revised to the Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (Ambulance): National Standard Curriculum, to ensure that it is accurate, current, and that it incorporates adult learning strategies. | |||

Our revised curriculum is appropriate for all of our operations, and is mandatory training for all Gilmer County Ambulance Service employees who operate an ambulance. EVOC curriculum is comprised of 3 modules.
