Garden and Orchard

Well, this really isn't the garden, but it was a recent project. I had to replace the crumbling, home-made stucco. First siding effort and except for the curvature of the underlying wall, I did OK.

View of the surviving fruit trees. we lost two cherry trees over the winter. Not too bad. The peach and apple trees are actually growing fruit this spring.(last year)

View of the garden from the west side of the yard. We got a late start on the corn this year so it is a little behind last year. But it should be fine.(last year)

This is the only local cherry tree that made it through the winter. (No, it wasn't the cold. It was the dogs!) This one came from a neighbor's back yard.
It's a little hard to see, but this tree is loaded with peaches. Quite a surprise really. Two peach trees have fruit and two do not.
Another view, from the bottom of the hill, of the fruit trees and the summer flag.

This is a shot of Liz's herb garden. It's early in the season so it look sparse. However, Liz has been getting dill, chives, parsley and rosemary for a while no.
Here are the bush beans. We decided to go with bush rather than runner beans this year. And we planted fewer plants.
While we planted fewer beans, we went crazy over sweet peas! We have almost two full rows of peas---and we have already been eating the tender, new pods.

Did I mention lettuce? No?! Well, we have had more lettuce than a family of four could eat in a year. (IMHO) Liz planted leaf and romaine.
This is some kind of squash-like plant. I don't eat them so this is up to Liz.
The beets are doing very well also. I haven't tasted them yet but Liz says they are pretty good.

Just a final image of Annie investigating the migrating tree flamingos. We hadn't seen them since last summer.

Panorama clip of the garden.   Panorama clip of the fruit trees.   Picnic area with speeding 4-wheelers.
