Publisher's Note: It is not my intention to offend or insult anyone pictured within these pages. I work with most of these folks and I love them all-every damn one!. You know, I mean, REALLY love them, man! If I have offended anyone, it is completely accidental and without intent. If you happen to be the one that I have offended, well, I am REALLY sorry. (Sorry for the fact that you take yourself too damn serious. Get over yourself!) Just to make sure, the previous was just a joke. Humor. You know, sort of making fun at one's own expense, kind'da thing. I hope that sort of clears things up. If not, give me a call on 1-800-WHO-CARES.

Sussie and Amy chat while we wait for the HealthNet Chopper to show up.
More chitchat, with Donna on the left, while we wait for the chopper.
We were not the only ones waiting. The students of Glenville elementary school are all turned out waiting too!
It's pretty much SOP for an engine to respond when a helicopter lands. Here you see one of Gilmer County's finest engines supplying LZ support.
Of course, the engine is also part of the EMS Week presentation, so the crew have opened all of the storage compartments so the kiddies can see what kind of equipment the engine carries.
The firefighters of Gilmer County have done a fine job of spiffing up the engine for EMS Week.
Gilmer County VFD take a lot of pride in their equipment and organize it so that each piece of hardware is accessible.
Here you see some SCBA gear and a fire extinguisher.
Gilmer County Ambulance service brought out three units and a bunch of Medics and EMTs to chat with the students.
Here you can (almost!) see TJ opening up the ambulances so the students can see what is inside the units.
Amy and Sussie are still hanging until the chopper arrives and we can begin the show.
Is this a fine struck or what?! This is Gilmer County 754 and is looking very good!
This is one of our fine Junior Squad members, Eric.
At just about this point, HealthNet was on the radio calling to get final instructions for landing on the baseball field. TJ is handling those details.
Here are a couple of shots of the innards of Gilmer 754. The cool device on the far wall is a portable suction unit. You probably don't want to know WHY we need that!
Here is a shot from the rear doors of the same unit. It is neat, tidy and ready for anything!
This man is trying to evade the authorities! (Or he is just trying to get me to talk to the hand!)
Gilmer County VFD staff preparing for the landing of the HealthNet chopper.
It is surprising how much there is to talk about before a helicopter lands!
This is a shoulder patch that I wear VERY proudly!
As I said earlier, we were NOT the only ones waiting!
Literally, the entire school was turned out and waiting for the show...
